Our first Great Australian Walker

     Category: News

Some people just can’t get enough of Australia, and Tourism Australia’s Tasmania ‘Best Jobs in the World’ winner, Graham Michael Freeman, is no exception.

Great Walks of Australia, an inspiring collection of eight luxury multi-day guided walks throughout Australia, has brought the digital influencer back to embark on eight walks in the Great Walks of Australia collection – just one month after he left the country.

Taking three months and covering four States and one Territory, Graham will become the first ‘Great Australian Walker’ and will be capturing and sharing his experiences on social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

On leaving Australia a month ago, Graham, known as the ‘Tassie Devil Wrangler’, said: “I’m not done with this place yet.”

During his six months travelling and working in Tasmania, Graham discovered why Australia is renowned for its magnificent bushwalking from self-guided treks to multi day luxury guided walking journeys. Already a big fan of the great outdoors, his walking experiences in Tasmania further developed his love for taking a slower and more immersive approach to discovering a place by doing so on foot.

“Realising how successful Graham had been in profiling Australia on various social media platforms, we were keen not to let Graham slip away too easily and invited him to come back,” said Great Walks of Australia’s Executive Officer, Karen Fitzgerald. “We hope the buzz created by his social media activity will inspire many more travellers to come and try Australia’s great and iconic walks,” he said.

Graham started with the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory; and then embark on the Scenic Rim Trail in Queensland; the Arkaba Walk in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges; then Tasmania’s Maria Island Walk, Freycinet Experience Walk, Cradle Mountain Huts Walk and the Bay of Fires Lodge Walk.  Graham finishes on Victoria’s Twelve Apostles Lodge Walk on the 16th December.
