Larapinta Camps prove a hit in their first season

The Larapinta Trail by World Expeditions first season in its’ new, architect-designed semi-permanent campsites has proven a hit with travellers. The two Larapinta Camps were completed in April 2013 and put immediately to use by enthusiastic trekkers, who have embraced the extra level of comfort the new camps provide.
So far the feedback from hikers has been extremely positive, with the stylish and comfortable dining and living areas providing a welcome respite after a day trekking on the Trail.
The camps have enabled World Expeditions to step up the “little extras” they offer: one such example being the communal USB chargers attached to the solar powered lighting system. These allow walkers to charge camera and phone batteries. In the past, walkers would have to bring 6 days of battery supply with them.
Peak season (June and July) on the Larapinta were almost fully booked, yet the location of the camps and track design meant groups continued to enjoy a sense of isolation and having the outback to themselves.
Bookings are now open for travel from April – September 2014. Book as a solo walker or enquire about a private group. More details, see the Larapinta section of the Great Walks of Australia website.
