Tasmania’s Maria Island Walk, through the World Heritage listed island off the east coast, has been awarded best Tour and Transport Operator 2017 at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. The Maria Island Walk is a fully guided three-night, four-day experience into one of Australia’s most spectacular destinations. Small groups (a maximum of ten guests and two guides) wind their way through beaches, rainforest and mountains, taking in the dramatic sea cliffs of Fossil Bay, the peaks of Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk and the largest stand of giant Tasmanian blue gums. Accommodation is in specially designed wilderness camps with the final night at the colonial Bernacchi House at the Darlington convict site.
